Set in Israel – Licensing of cinema in Israel
After working with film crews from around the world for many years, I have just learned that there is hardly a site in Israel today that does not require a film permit.
Organization of film permits in Israel can be a business opportunity, depending on the location in question, the size of the crew and the length of the shoot.
In my experience, the permission to film the most difficult to get is access to the Dome of the Rock. But after walking for many years I have earned the trust of all parties concerned and I managed to get permission to shoot whenever a crew wanted to go and shoot there. Efforts are absolutely useful, because it is a really beautiful site and unmanned left unimpressed by the architecture, colors and atmosphere.
The preparation of a show like the cities of the underworld, which was shot in Israel for a whole month, involved the acquisition of a large number of permits for film across the entire country. With such a fire plan tight and intense as the cities of the underworld, it is absolutely crucial to the calendar that permits the film are ready and available on site and the crew can go directly to film at each new location. The show was organized by the American television host Don Wildman, who has never hidden his enthusiasm to explore all the amazing places Israel has to offer. The shoot ended up being a great success and the episode Israel has the highest rating of all shows in the series.
As a producer in Israel, I work closely with all major institutions, museums and archaeologists to Israel, with several of them with our crews escorted to various archaeological sites, offering their expertise brilliant and knowledge in interviews. We won the confidence of many large organizations in Israel that the Israeli Antiquities Authorities, which gives permissions to shoot at archaeological sites and holds significant archival material.
My goal is to open every door for my clients to make every turn as successful as possible. I always strive for professionalism and efficiency in my work and open doors for my clients to help them save a lot of money and time, are valuable assets to any production.
To understand the many sites that require a film permit in Israel, take a look at the following list:
Most of these places that require a film permit has similar guidelines in other countries, including churches and national parks. But because of strict security measures and the religious sensibilities of some of the other sites, codes of safety regulations and dress may be more stringent. It is extremely important to cooperate with security at any time if you are shooting in sensitive areas like the Temple Mount and a checkpoint of the army.
In recent years, I took film crews to the extreme north of Israel at its southern most tip. I arranged with some filming permits political leaders and Knesset members, organized the shooting in the territories and in the mosques, and my teams have turned more or less every national park and the church throughout the country you may think.
Know where to go, when and how to organize a film permit in Israel is a knowledge which comes from the vast field experience and thorough knowledge of all locations, language and culture. My goal is to use this knowledge to open the right door for everyone and complete production in Israel as successfully and efficiently as possible.
